Talk-show host Rush Limbaugh is a huge Apple fan. He wasn’t afraid to admit it on the last-aired episode of Rush Limbaugh Show, during which he also offered his personal take on the #bendgate controversy.

Talking to a caller, the radio show host revealed that he owned not just the iPhone 6 Plus, but also the 4.7-inch iPhone 6. He explained how both had their strengths and their weaknesses. However, he favors the smaller one.

Rush is open about loving Apple

One would argue that Limbaugh was paid to do Apple a favor and dissipate the #bendgate hype. After all, his show has some 15 million weekly listeners. Since we can’t know for sure why Limbaugh did it, we can at least say it’s natural to try to defend the products that you love.

“Well, let me preface this by acknowledging what many regular listeners know. I’m an Apple evangel. I absolutely love their products. So some people might interpret that as resulting in commentary that’s biased in their favor. It’s not the case, but I need to acknowledge that. I think iOS 8 is the most incredible, fabulous, sensational upgrade in software since the iPhone was released in 2007,” he said, according to a transcript.

Rush knows his specs

It’s pretty clear that Limbaugh loves the mobile software developed by Apple. But he also likes the hardware. He has equally good things to say about the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus.

In one key takeaway, he responds to a caller, saying, “Yeah, the 6 Plus is great, too. I’ve got both. But the 6 Plus is not a one-handed phone, if that matters to you. But the 6 is dynamic. It’s got the same guts. The speed of these two new phones is incredible.”

He goes on to describe the Wi-Fi and LTE speeds, the graphical output, and other blazing-fast functions, calling the phones “phenomenal.”

Doesn’t think much of #bendgate

Addressing everyone listening to his show at home, at the office, or in the car, Limbaugh then noted, “Folks, this business about the iPhone 6 Plus bending? It’s so bogus. That’s capitalism, folks. That is just the raw, bloodthirsty competition in capitalism, putting stuff out like that.”

That doesn’t mean you should take Limbaugh’s word for it, but he actually owns the thing, and there’s a good chance he doesn’t want this coming back to him after indirectly recommending a bend-prone phone to his audience. Just saying.
