Joshua Hill, also known as p0sixninja on Twitter, seems confident he will have an iPhone 5 / iOS 5 exploit ready for the first ever MyGreatFest jailbreak event which takes place on September 17th, in London.

Tweets authored p0sixninja and MyGreatFest seem to confirm the hacker is up to something serious in the coming months, according to Redmond Pie.

He also confirmed he is standing by his "weeks" prediction for the iPad 2 jailbreak.

“I also predict many sleepless nights in the near-future,” he writes.

A tweet from MyGreatFest organizer Craig Fox also seems to confirm the hacker’s plans to showcase a jailbreak for an unreleased version of iOS, as well as for unreleased hardware.

“Think about this peeps, @p0sixninja showing us a "LIVE" jailbreaking session of the iPhone 5 in September. Best get your tickets”, reads the tweet.

We have reason to doubt any hacker will be able to demonstrate an iPhone 5 jailbreak on day one (of the iPhone 5 debut), or even soon thereafter.

The iPad 2 is a good indication of that. Months into its release, hackers are still struggling to issue a what is referred to as a ‘userland’ jailbreak.

On the other hand, an iOS 5 beta jailbreak is already available. Granted, Apple still has time to close these holes in future betas, as well as in the final version of the software, but it appears the hackers are winning ground (as usual).

If the cat-and-mouse game between them and Apple stays where it is, tinkerers like Joshua Hill only have the hardware to worry about.

Chances are there will be a live demonstration during that jailbreak event, should rumors of Apple launching the iPhone 5 in August hold water.

However, we advise jailbreak fans not to get their hopes up too much. After all, we don’t even know what iPhone is going to launch this year.
