14 DAY TRIAL // Quickoffice Inc. has released an update to its iPad application, Quickoffice Pro HD, which brings Office 2010 compatibly for users to view and edit 2010 Word and Excel documents as well as view Powerpoint files. Users also get desktop-like freeze pane Excel functionality.
Announcing the Quickoffice Pro HD “new release” in the iTunes App Store, the developers describe the updated software as “a powerful office editing suite, PDF viewer, and file manager that works seamlessly with your email attachments, local files, and cloud storage accounts so you can work anytime, anywhere - online and offline.”
“Create and edit Microsoft Office documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, as well as view PDF files, on the go,” say the developers.
The changelog for version 4.0.0 says the suite now has the ability to: view and Edit Microsoft Word 2010 files; view and Edit Microsoft Excel 2010 files; and to view Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 files. Also new are the enhanced Freeze Panes in Excel files.
Commenting on the new release, Gregg Fiddes, SVP sales and business development at Quickoffice, said:

The suite is optimized for iPad use with SmarTouch Technology. Users can make edits across entire documents or spreadsheets via the Multi-Edit Toolbox, which includes text formatting, numbers, paragraphs, backgrounds, and cells in a single interface (no multiple menus).

Quickoffice Pro HD is an iPad-exclusive app, though there is an iPhone / iPod touch version as well.
