Mobile phone carrier O2 UK won't range the new Apple iPad 2, although other wireless operators in the country will have the device available for their customers.

The new iPad 2 was announced on Wednesday, when Apple confirmed that it would be put on sale in the UK starting with March 25th, featuring pricing similar with the original iPad, and Orange and T-Mobile UK already announced plans to put it on their offering.

However, O2 won't make a similar move, the company already unveiled. However, those who will purchase the iPad 2 will have the possibility to use it on the carrier's network, O2 confirmed.

“We continue to offer great value, flexible data tariffs for iPad 2 and the unique ability to manage these tariffs on the device itself,” the wireless carrier reportedly said in a statement.

However, the company continued by explaining that it won't have the device available in its lineup.

“Although we will not be selling iPad 2 with subsidy, O2 microsims with our great value iPad tariffs are still available for customers who have purchased the device elsewhere,” the carrier stated.

“In addition to our award winning mobile broadband service, customers also benefit from unlimited Wi-Fi at thousands of The Cloud and BT Openzone hotspots.”

Apparently, O2, which has a long history of offering Apple products in the UK, was the only carrier beside Orange and T-Mobile to confirm iPad 2 plans.

Vodafone and Three did not comment on the matter, though they would certainly offer specific details on this in the near future.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the iPad 2 arrives on shelves with a dual-core application processor inside, two cameras, and with the same 9.7 screen as the predecessor.

The tablet PC offers various internal storage capabilities, ranging from 16GB to 32GB and 64GB, while offering either WiFi or WiFi and 3G connectivity options.
