iBuyPower has just announced that it has finalized the development of the high-performance water-cooled Erebus gaming system which is now available for purchase with prices starting at $1,249.

Erebus has been designed from the ground up by iBuyPower engineers specifically with liquid cooling and overclocking in mind and can be configured to feature Intel's powerful six-core Core i7-990X processor.

This can be accompanied by a wide assortment of graphics cards from both AMD and Nvidia, including CrossFireX and SLI solutions, and can also feature up to 24GB of DDR3 RAM as well as six storage drives (either SSD or HDD).

All these high performance hardware parts are cooled by a specially designed water loop which is comprised out of four radiators (three 240mm “Dual” and one 480mm “Quad” radiator) and a 13mm high-flow tubing pump.

This can push up to 4.5 gallons of cooling liquid per minute and iBuyPower claims that it can dissipate up to 3,400W of heat.

Other features include front panel USB 3.0 and eSATA connectivity, a built-in card reader, advanced profile lighting and all the system's cables are routed to provide the case with a clean design which won't hamper the airflow inside the chassis.

“After two years of hard work and we are proud to unveil this ground breaking system.” said Darren Su, executive vice president of iBuyPower.

“Erebus’ custom built liquid cooling system will allow gamers to push the overclocking envelope, delivering unparalleled performance and creating the ultimate gaming experience,” concluded the company's rep.

The Erebus gaming desktop can be purchased right now from the company's website and, as mentioned previously, prices start at $1,249 USD.

For this much money, users get a water-cooled Intel Core i5-2400 processor, 4GB of DDR3-1600 memory, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 550Ti graphics card and 500GB of storage space.
