Gamers will no doubt be glad to hear that iBuyPower is once again in the position of selling custom-built high-end systems based on Intel's second generation processors now that the chipset issues are being resolved.

Intel will no doubt remain on the minds of many consumers for a long time to come because of its unfortunate experience with the 6-Series Cougar point chipset.

As some may already know, the Santa Clara, California-based company discovered a fairly nasty flaw in its Cougar point chipset, at the end of January.

As a reminder, the design flaw caused SATA 3.0 Gbps ports to degrade over time and, thus, affected motherboard and notebook functionality.

Intel did manage to start shipping fixed chipsets, and it seems that iBuyPower is finally feeling the benefits of that.

While this means that notebooks will only resume selling in March, desktops don't appear to have to wait so long if this custom PC builder is to be believed.

According to a recent announcement on its part, the new B3 revision 6 Series chipsets are ready to team up with second generation Core CPUs in its gaming machines.

Otherwise known as Sandy Bridge, the platform lies at the basis of several systems, one of them being the Chimera XLC.

Launched some time ago (and forcefully put on hold when the aforementioned problems arose), it combines top-tier hardware with the same level of cooling.

Customizable here, it boasts several fans and a large, 240mm radiator which, along with everything else, are packed inside a case with a flaming design.

“iBUYPOWER is committed to offering our customers systems that integrate the best components available,” said Darren Su, Executive Vice President of iBUYPOWER.

“The early availability of revised chipsets in our systems is a feature we are proud to be able to offer our customers.”
