The Indian company is trying to make learning fun with this tablet

Tablets have already been proved as a useful educational tool, and Indian company iBall has certainly taken notice of that. The folks over at AndroidOS.in report that this week iBall has announced the launch of a new tablet meant to help students hoping to go to IIT JEE.

This project has been developed by iBall in partnership with Bansal Classes, which basically provides the educational material per se. The software will be mounted onto the new tablet, which will be released under the Edu-Slide moniker and will be available only in India.

The Edu-Slide will come stuffed with lots of useful study materials from fields like Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Students will have the opportunity to improve their knowledge of the subjects, by studying the digital textbooks and taking the master problem packages.

The study material found on the tablet will be useful for students of 11th and 12th PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics). More than that, IIT JEE aspirants will find a library of 200 hours of audio explanations pre-loaded on the device.

Specification-wise, the Edu-Slide will include a 10.1-inch IPS HD with a 1280 x 1024 resolution and will ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean pre-installed on it. Two versions of the product will be available – a Wi-Fi variant which will cost Rs 30,999 (€364.60 / $483.10) and a 3G+Wi-Fi one priced at Rs 35,999 (€423.41 / $561.03).

The simple Wi-Fi version comes packing a dual-core MediaTek Cortex A9 processor while the 3G+Wi-Fi one features a quad-core MediaTek Cortex A9 processor. Other specs include the 8-megapixel rear camera, 8GB memory and a microSD card slot.
