More and more 8-inchers are starting to be unleashed into the world

More and more tablet vendors are pushing out 8-inch slates in an attempt to diversify their customer base and attract more sales.

This is the case of manufacturer iBall, which has just released an 8-inch display tablet featuring a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. Power comes from a 1GHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor coupled of 1GB of RAM. 4GB of storage are offered on board, with the possibility of expanding it to 32GB.

The slates offers two cameras, 3G capabilities and allows users to place calls, thus rivaling with some smartphones out there. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is the default operating system.

Micromax and Xolo are two other mobile device manufacturers who recently released 8-inch models, both bundled with 3G and SIM capabilities.

iBall will launch the Slide 3G 8072 soon and customers will be able to grab it in silver for the price of Rs 11,999 / $195 / €142. Look for it online at Flipkart.
