Coming to provide gaming enthusiasts with a new system that can deliver the necessary performance to run the latest gaming applications, but also boasting a unique and custom design, the new Chimera desktop PCs from iBUYPOWER have been equipped with the latest in computer hardware. The boutique PC builder has updated its product portfolio with two new systems that are built on two different platforms, namely Intel's latest X58 and the new AMD AM3 platform. In addition, the company has teamed up with Bigfoot Networks and has added the Killer Xeno Pro network card to both systems.

“Bigfoot Networks' prime objective is to provide smooth, lag-free gameplay, and the Killer Xeno Pro gaming network card underscores this mission. Our teaming with iBuyPower to power their iBuyPower Chimera Gaming System with Killer Xeno Pro benefits gamers, empowering them to maximize frame rates and accelerate game action,” said Michael Howse, president and CEO, Bigfoot Networks. “The Bigfoot-iBuyPower combination optimizes the online gaming experience for gamers, giving them accelerated voice chat and reduced lag, which are gamer 'musts,' within a powerful gaming computing system.”

Kicking off with the AM3-based system, dubbed Chimera Killer AM3, the PC builder has designed the rig on an ASUS 790GX motherboard, boasting a 3.2GHz Phenom II X4 955 BE processor, 8GB of RAM, a 750GB hard drive, two Radeon HD 4770s CrossFire-enabled graphics cards and a 22x DVD writer. The Intel X58-based system boasts the ASUS X58 board, a 2.66GHz Core i7 920 CPU, 6GB of DDR3 memory, a 750GB HDD, a 22x DVD-RW optical drive and two GeForce GTX 275 cards in SLI.

Price wise, the AM3-based rig will be available for US$1,499, while the Intel X58 system comes priced at US$1,899. Both systems are offered with a 3-year warranty and can be purchased via the company's website.
