A new privacy breach related to home CCTV systems was spotted on Reddit by a Eufy cam owner.

A massive breach of Eufy's privacy has revealed a total stranger live and filmed camera feed. Full access to the account includes the control of pan-and-panel cameras.

After it was reported, the issue was confirmed by many other users living in different geographical zones.

A user from New Zeeland noticed that none of the videos on the device belonged to him. He stated that those videos were filmed in another country, maybe Australia as he deducted from the content of the video.

He also expressed his worries as he mentioned that he has 3 little children, and does not feel safe that other users may be watching his cameras. The whole deal infuriates the user to the point where he is considering throwing the device for good.

Many privacy and safety concerns raised

Another user replied to the post that an unauthorized stranger started to make obscene sounds through the camera in his bedroom as he was with his wife in bed.

The security breach does not seem to affect all users. Jokingly, some users stated that they feel bad as they can see only their live feeds and recorded videos.

A Eufy user from Finland indicated that the issue may be specific to the region, as he did not notice anything unusual all day.

It seems that affected regions include Australia, New Zeeland, and the U.S. Users in the aforementioned areas are wondering whether Eufy will release a statement regarding this massive privacy breach.

Some manage to fix the issue by logging out and then in again. In almost all cases, the workaround managed to restore access to their Eufy cameras.

Considering the gravity of the situation, the best thing you can do is to disable the camera until the problem gets fixed.
