Huawei P9 has skipped MWC 2016 trade fair, but the flagship smartphone will eventually make its debut on the market in the first half of the year.

Although we've been fed several details about Huawei's high-end handset, as well as some pictures of a prototype unit, we've never actually been able to get a clearer view of what's to come.

The world's third largest mobile phone vendor is likely to introduce four Huawei P9 variants when the device is announced. Each of these versions will be packed with different specs and, obviously, their prices will vary.

Today, the first clear images of the Huawei P9 have been published by VentureBeat, along with the complete list of specs that the flagship has to offer.

According to the person that's been given the chance to spend some time with the Huawei P9, the smartphone comes with high-end specs.

However, since the P9 will be available in four different variants, this one might be one of the cheaper versions since it sports a 5.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

The regular model includes 3GB RAM and 32GB storage

Also, it's powered by an octa-core Kirin 950 processor, coupled with a Mali-T880 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM. While these might not look like the specs that a flagship smartphone will include, we're pretty sure Huawei will also launch a premium model that will offer better performance.

Furthermore, the regular Huawei P9 should pack 32GB storage, but there's no mention of microSD card slot for memory expansion. The good news is the P9 will be powered by a high-capacity 3,900 mAh battery, which is more than decent.

The back side features a dual-camera setup with dual lens. Both cameras include a pair of 12-megapixel sensors and Leica lenses, which is no surprise considering Huawei's latest announcement that it has partnered with the German company.

Huawei P9 will also come with a USB Type-C port and a fingerprint scanner on the back. It will run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow right out of the box.
