The mid-range Huawei P8 lite (2017) was silently introduced by the Chinese company about a month ago, but the smartphone hasn't yet made it to the market even though it's been rumored to arrive by the end of January.

According to our previous report, the P8 lite (2017) should have been released in some European countries last month for €239, but other regions were expected to get the mid-range device under a different name.

Well, it looks like one of these names has been revealed by Evan Blass, as he claims the P8 lite (2017) will be launched in select markets as Huawei Nova lite.

The Chinese company might use a third P9 lite (2017) name if we are to believe previous rumors concerning the launch of the smartphone in Latin America, but that hasn't been confirmed yet.

We're still waiting for Huawei to properly introduce the P8 lite (2017) since, from what we could gather, the smartphone will benefit from a worldwide launch.

The phone might go on sale in some countries by the end of February, but we don't rule out an official announcement later this month at MWC 2017 trade fair.

The P8 lite (2017) is a true mid-range smartphone that ships with Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box, as well as EMUI 5.0 on top of it.

On the inside, the device packs a more than decent octa-core Kirin 655 processor, paired with a Mali-T830 MP2 graphics processing unit, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card).

Huawei P8 lite (2017) sports a 5.2-inch display with full HD (1080p) resolution, and packs a single 12-megapixel camera on the back side, which features f/2.0 aperture and PDAF (phase detection autofocus). The phone also comes with an additional 8-megapixel selfie camera.

Design-wise, the compact form factor of the P8 lite (2017) did not allow Huawei to include a removable battery, but at least it's a decent one (3,000 mAh).
