We're only a couple of weeks away from the official reveal of one of the most powerful smartphones ever launched by Huawei, the Mate 8.

We reported yesterday that the Chinese company plans to launch its high-end phablet on November 26, but the details on the Mate 8 specs have been a bit scarce until today.

The only thing we knew for sure is that Huawei Mate 8 might be powered by the company's new Kirin 950 chipset that packs a powerful 64-bit 2.2GHz octa-core processor.

Earlier today, the specs of an unannounced Huawei smartphone were listed at GFXBench, and due to the fact that the Kirin 950 chipset is mentioned among the specs, we believe this is the Huawei Mate 8 phablet.

According to the listing at GFXBench, Huawei NXT-AL10, which is likely to be the upcoming Mate 8, will be equipped with a 2.2GHz octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 950 processor, a Mali-T880 graphics processing unit and no less than 4GB of RAM.

The first Huawei smartphone to come preloaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow

Furthermore, Huawei Mate 8 is going to pack 64GB of storage inside, but there's a high chance that users will be able to expand internal memory (up to 128GB). We also don't rule out the launch of multiple Mate 8 variants based on amount of storage.

The only disappointing thing about the Mate 8 is the huge 6-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution. A Quad HD display would have been more fitting for this device, but it would have drained the battery much faster.

On the back, Huawei's big phablet will boast a 16-megapixel camera with autofocus, face detection, LED flash and video recording, while in the front there should be an 8-megapixel shooter for selfie and video calls.

But the main selling point of the Huawei Mate 8 could be the fact that it will ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system right out of the box. At least, that's what the GFXBench listing claims, so we will have to wait a few more weeks to get confirmation.
