14 DAY TRIAL // Many of you have probably heard by now that Huawei plans to launch another flagship smartphone by the end of the year. The so-called Huawei Mate 8 leaked in a video a few months ago, which is quite stunning since the phablet isn't expected to be unveiled for another 1 or 2 months.
Anyway, if you’ve never heard about the Mate 8 but you are a fan of premium, flagship smartphones, then you will be pleased to know that Huawei's device could become the most powerful on the market.
According to a new report from XiaomiToday, the Mate 8 will be equipped with Huawei's homebrew Kirin 950 chipset developed in collaboration with HiSilicon.
It appears that Huawei's chipset will include a Cat 10 LTE modem inside, as well as a powerful octa-core processor that should be better, performance-wise, than Samsung Exynos 7420 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 CPUs.
The Kirin 950 chipset is developed on the 16nm FinFET technology and the octa-core inside will feature an ARM big.LITTLE architecture with one 2.4GHz quad-core Cortex-A72 and another 2GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 processors.

Moreover, the powerful octa-core processor inside the Huawei Mate 8 will be complemented by a no-less-impressive ARM Mali-T880 graphics processing unit, an i7-coprocessor and a Tensilica Hi-Fi 4 independent audio chip.
Huawei is expected to launch not one, but two versions of the Mate 8, based on the amount of memory inside: 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, as well as 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
The same source also claims the 3GB model will cost around $520, while the 4GB variant should be available for $610. Keep in mind, though, that these prices are only available for the Chinese market, so they might be slightly more expensive in international markets.
Huawei Mate 8 will boast a huge 6-inch capacitive touchscreen display that will support Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels resolution). The smartphone is expected to be unveiled sometime in November / December.
