14 DAY TRIAL // Huawei Honor 7i is the latest mid-range Android smartphone launched by the Chinese company. The device leaked a few times over the last couple of days, so the official announcement doesn't really come as a surprise.
The new Honor 7i is a typical mid-range handset, but it does come with one component that should set it apart from other devices in the same price range.
Huawei's smartphone packs a 13-megapixel rotating camera, which features f/2.0 aperture, 28mm wide-angle lens, autofocus, dual-tone LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.
According to Huawei, Honor 7i's camera is rugged and should last for at least two years even if the user opens it 132 times per day. It's also worth mentioning that the phone's camera features a Sony BSI sensor inside.
Moving on to specs, Huawei Honor 7i sports a 5.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.
The phone is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, which is complemented by either 2GB or 3GB of RAM.
It comes in two variations: 2GB and 3GB RAM
The 2GB RAM version comes with 16GB storage inside, while the 3GB RAM model packs no less than 32GB of internal memory. The good news is both versions are equipped with microSD card slots for memory expansion (up to 128GB).
As expected, Huawei Honor 7i will ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of box, along with EMUI 3.1 on top.
Huawei Honor 7i features a premium design with aluminum frame and glass coating on the back cover, similar to Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge.
Last but not least, the smartphone is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery and offers many connectivity options including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, microUSB 2.0, Bluetooth and GPS with AGPS.
The Honor 7i can now be purchased in China for $250 (€225) for the 16GB model and $300 (€265) for the 32GB variant, respectively. There's no word on international availability yet.
