14 DAY TRIAL // Huawei is well known for its affordable smartphones, which can be purchased in just about every country. The latest addition to the Chinese company's portfolio of Android handsets is the mid-range Honor 5X.
While it's unclear where the Honor 5X name might come from, we do know that the device features more than decent specs for the price you pay.
Speaking of which, Huawei has confirmed the Honor 5X is now available for pre-order for just $155 for the 2GB RAM model, or $220 for the 3GB variant.
The smartphone is available for pre-order in China only, and it's supposed to go on sale on November 3. However, we expect the Honor 5X to be available worldwide a couple of days after its official release in the Mainland.
Moving on to actual specs, Huawei Honor 5X is powered by a 64-bit 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, an Adreno 405 graphics processing unit, and either 2GB or 3GB of RAM.

Also, the smartphone packs 16GB of internal memory, but users can further expand storage up to 128GB via microSD card slot.
On the back, Huawei Honor 5X features a 13-megapixel photo snapper with f/2.0 lens, autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while on the front, there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

The Honor 5X drains energy from a high-capacity 3,000 mAh battery. It also packs a fingerprint scanner on the back side, as well as a metal body.
Connectivity-wise, Huawei's mid-range smartphone offers multiple options, including 4G LTE, dual-SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, microUSB 2.0, and GPS with AGPS support.
Last but not least, Huawei Honor 5X comes preloaded with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, along with Emotion 3.1 UI on top of it.
