We're not even close to a global availability of the HTC One A9, and the Taiwanese company prepares for yet another major smartphone launch.

The next important device coming from HTC is called One X9. The name of the phone is quite unusual for a smartphone launched by HTC.

Nevertheless, HTC One X9 will be a high-end smartphone, PhoneRadar reports. Even though it will be priced under $500, it will come with top-of-the-line specs, including a chipset that has yet to be released.

According to sources familiar with HTC's plans, the One X9 will be equipped with either a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor or a deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 CPU.

Since HTC One X9 is a flagship smartphone, it makes sense to boast a Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display, but there are no details about the size of the screen yet.

An aggressively priced high-end smartphone

We also know HTC One X9 is expected to pack no less than 4GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of internal memory. The Taiwanese company will launch at least two versions of HTC One X9 based on the amount of storage.

The cheapest version, possibly the 64GB model, will be launched in China for 2,999 yuan outright, which is about $470 or €440.

Another version aimed at the mid-range market will pack only 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal memory, which means the price should be even lower.

Camera-wise, the One X9 is said to feature a stunning 23-megapixel rear-facing shooter with autofocus, LED flash, and 4K video recording, as well as a secondary 4-UltraPixel selfie camera on the front.

HTC One X9 features a metal unibody and will be powered by a high-capacity 3,500 mAh battery. It will also come with HTC BoomSound speakers on the front.

Unfortunately, there are no details about the version of Android it will run, but since HTC One A9 comes with Marshmallow out of the box, the One X9 should come preloaded with the same OS.
