HTC has recently announced its flagship smartphone, which won’t carry the usual “One” brand. HTC 10 is now available for purchase in many countries, but that’s not the only thing that will bring the Taiwanese company above the black line.

A new high-end smartphone has just been announced, which seems to be the true sequel of the One family. The HTC One S9 is now available in Germany for €500, but we suspect the device will make its debut in other countries as well.

The One S9 has really been officially introduced by HTC, but it’s been listed on the company’s official webpage. It’s more of a mid-range device with some high-end specs inside.

For example, HTC states that the One S9 sports a 5-inch Super LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD resolution. Sadly, there’s no mention of Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

We also know that One S9 employs the services of a powerful 64-bit 2GHz MediaTek Helio X10 processor, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory.

The problem is there’s only 9GB available to users, so you will have to add a new memory card for additional storage. Luckily, HTC has confirmed that the One S9 comes with microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 2TB).

A slight improvement over the HTC One A9

HTC One S9 packs a 13-megapixel UltraPixel camera with 28mm equivalent focal length, f/2.0 aperture, OIS (optical image stabilization), dual-LED flash and video recording. There’s also a secondary 4-UltraPixel camera on the front that features f/2.0 aperture.

The smartphone features stereo BoomSound speakers on the front, as well as several connectivity options like LTE support, Wi-Fi, microUSB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS with AGPS and GLONASS.

The One S9 ships with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system right out of the box, along with the latest version of HTC Sense UI. It’s also powered by a 2,840 mAh battery, which hasn’t yet been rated by HTC.
