Even though HTC has been struggling with smartphone sales, the Taiwanese handset maker is determined to win back the hearts of its fans with a brand-new device that's internally known as HTC Perfume.

Although the flagship smartphone is expected to go official as HTC One M10, the information hasn't been confirmed yet.

The good news is we have more details on the phone's specs, courtesy to Evan Blass (via VentureBeat), who cites a person that has been given a prototype unit for testing purposes.

The prototype unit in question was running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system, which is probably the same version it will come preloaded with, along with Sense 8.0 UI.

The most interesting aspect is the fact that HTC One M10 will pack a 12-UltraPixel camera on the back. Based on the technology developed by HTC, the UltraPixel camera will feature laser-assisted autofocus and OIS (optical image stabilization).

Unfortunately, HTC has decided to skip the BoomSound speakers on the One M10, so many fans might be disappointed.

On the bright side, the One M10 will boast a 5.1-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that should support Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution.

Fingerprint sensor and a Samsung-like Home button

As expected, the phone will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 processor, paired with an Adreno 530 graphics processing unit and 4GB of RAM. Also, there will be 32GB of storage inside, which can be expanded via microSD card slot.

The One M10 is also said to include a fingerprint sensor embedded in the Home button, which is quite unusual for an HTC flagship smartphone.

The source of the leak claims HTC has no intention of revealing the One M10 at Mobile World Congress 2016 trade fair. Instead, the flagship will be introduced during a dedicated event at a later date.
