HTC has just taken the wraps off its new high-end smartphone, the Bolt, a US-exclusive device that will be available at Sprint beginning today.

Customers who want to buy one will have to come up with $600 upfront. However, Sprint also offers Android fans the option to purchase the HTC Bolt for $25 monthly payments for 24 months. Also, those who don't mind committing to a long-term contract can grab the Bolt for $200 with a two-year agreement.

The Bolt is HTC's first smartphone to ship with Android 7.0 Nougat operating system right out of the box. The phone is available in both Gunmetal Grey and Glacier Silver colors.

The first thing we've noticed is the lack of 3.5mm audio jack. Instead, the Bolt employs the help of a USB Type-C port, which can be used for music listening as well. That allowed HTC to make the phone almost waterproof.

According to the Taiwanese company, the HTC Bolt features IP57 certification, which means it comes with both dust and water resistance.

On the inside, the Bolt packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory (expandable via microSD card). HTC Bolt boasts an impressive 16-megapixel camera on the back and a secondary 8-megapixel selfie camera in the front.

Also, it sports a stunning 5.5-inch display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. The lights are kept on by a decent 3,200 mAh battery that features Quick Charge 2.0 technology.

The phone comes with a fingerprint sensor underneath the Home button, as well as BoomSound Adaptive Audio feature for the best audio experience.

Another aspect that's worth mentioning is the fact that it packs Qualcomm's Snapdragon X10 LTE modem, which means the HTC Bolt is fully compatible with Sprint's LTE Plus data network.
