While everyone's attention is focused on MWC 2016 and all the products that will be presented at the trade fair, HTC is about to launch a brand-new smartphone in the A series. Even though it's not a high-end device, it looks quite stylish for an affordable smartphone.

The so-called HTC A16 is likely to be released in the next couple of weeks, but until then we have been given the chance to check it out thanks to the press renders published by @evleaks.

The picture of the HTC A16 did not come with any additional info on the phone's specs, but HTC leakster LlabTooFeR was kind enough to share with us all the details he has on the device.

According to him, the A16 will definitely be an affordable smartphone powered by a Qualcomm MSM8909 Snapdragon 210 processor, paired with 1.5GB RAM and 8GB of internal memory. Aside from that, the smartphone packs microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 128GB).

Hopefully, Android 6.0 Marshmallow is included too

HTC A16 is not a big smartphone. It comes with a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution, but there's no mention of Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

At the back, the A16 is said to feature an 8-megapixel photo snapper, while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

No word on 4G LTE support, but we do know the smartphone will be powered by a decent 2,200 mAh battery.

We don't know if the smartphone will be launched on the market as HTC A16, or the Taiwanese company will use a different moniker.

Judging by the phone's specs, the A16 shouldn't be priced above $200, but HTC is known for overpricing its devices in some regions, so it will probably depend on what interest the company has in selected markets.
