Word about a Windows 10 Mobile smartphone made by HP leaked earlier this month when a certain device named “Falcon” has been spotted in GFXBench database.

Since then, no additional details on the high-end smartphone emerged, so it was still unclear whether or not the device is real.

Today, a new report coming from Dr. Windows confirms HP Falcon is very real and that it might be unveiled in Q1 2016.

Unfortunately, HP is not yet sure whether or not a Windows 10 Mobile flagship smartphone will be profitable, which is why Falcon's release is still uncertain.

However, if the company decides that HP Falcon will be a valuable asset to its portfolio of smartphones, the device might be unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2016 trade fair at the end of February.

For those who don't recall anything about this device, here is a quick rundown of HP Falcon's main features as listed at GFXBench.

A serious competitor to Microsoft's Lumia 950 XL

First of all, this is a Windows 10 Mobile flagship smartphone, which means it will compete with Microsoft's Lumia 950 XL.

The device boasts a large 5.8-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution and possible Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

On the inside, the phablet comes packed with a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, coupled with 3GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of internal memory.

There's mention of microSD card slot, but we do know HP Falcon should feature an impressive 20-megapixel main camera and a secondary no less impressive 12-megapixel photo snapper in the front.

Other details about Falcon's specs are unknown at the moment, and we cannot find out more unless HP decides to release the smartphone next year. Stay tuned for more updates on this one.
