Huawei’s sub-brand Honor releases affordable and powerful smartphones in China, and some of them are later made available to other markets, like Europe. Honor introduced the V9 in February in China and the company has already started sending out invites for the launch in the old continent.

However, Honor V9 will be renamed in Europe and announced under the Honor 8 Pro branding. The Chinese manufacturer already started sending out invites for the April 5 launch event. The name of the smartphone isn’t specifically mentioned, but recent reports have revealed Honor’s intention to make the phone available to European customers.

A tweet by tipster Roland Quandt reveals that the upcoming Honor phone will be made available in gold, blue and black colors.

Premium smartphone with impressive specs

The Honor V9 (or Honor 8 Pro in Europe) is quite an impressive smartphone with its 6GB of RAM and 5.7-inch 2k display with Gorilla Glass 3 on top. The smartphone runs Kirin 960 octa-core CPU clocked at 2.4GHz and has 64GB or 128GB of internal storage.

The smartphone draws power from a 4,000mAh battery, an improvement to its predecessor’s 3,500mAh battery. Moreover, it runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, with EMUI 5.0 on top, and features a dual-camera setup on the back with 12MP sensors and f/2.2 aperture. The camera’s enhanced black and white sensors are capable of processing images with up to 3 times more light.

Honor says that the dual-camera setup is even capable of capturing 3D pictures. The phone was launched in China in multiple variants, including with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, as well as 6GB of RAM and 64GB of memory. Prices in China start at about $377 and reach $508. The phone could see similar pricing in Europe, while some reports say that the V9 could arrive to the US as well, under the same Honor 8 Pro branding.
