Developer Dambuster Studios and publisher Deep Silver are really eager to make the coming Homefront: The Revolution an intriguing video game for those who love alternate history and open world structures, with the cinematic intro of the title now available, offering a look at the alternate history of the United States that lead to the invasion of the Korean forces.

More information can be obtained on an official historical site associated with the video game, which shows that the United States was unable to recover from the Vietnam and Korean wars and from the fact that the Apollo program failed to get a man on the Moon, something that the Soviets then accomplished.

The world of Homefront: The Revolution is dominated by a powerful technology company called APEX, which is roughly the equivalent of our Apple, and its success means China becomes a close ally of North Korea.

As the United States continues to decline after the banking crisis of 2008 and because of its involvement in the Middle East, it relies on the new tech powerhouse for defense contracts while also getting a line of credit from South East Asia.

Finally, a unified Korea invades under the guise of saving US citizens from their own failed government, and the story of the video game can begin.

Homefront: The Revolution will focus on Ethan Brady

The protagonist is the youngest member of the resistance forces and the team at Dambuster will focus on him as he learns how to oppose the Korean forces and uses his allies to encourage the population of Philadelphia to rise up.

Homefront: The Revolution will use an open world structure that's very different from that of the first game in the series, with gamers having to develop new tactics and face new challenges as they move from the Red to the Yellow and the Green Zones of the city.

The development team says that it will introduce more emotion to the experience while also offering gamers some futuristic tools to use, including weapons that can turn into new versions in the middle of a firefight.

A cooperative four-player Resistance mode will also be offered, which will allow players to develop their own characters using unique abilities and equipment.

Homefront: The Revolution will be delivered on May 17 in North America and May 20 in Europe on the PlayStation 4 from Sony, the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PC.
