The free, cross-platform, and open-source HomeBank personal finance software and money management suite received a new maintenance update a few days ago, versioned 5.1.2.

HomeBank 5 is a powerful tool designed from the ground up to be easy to use and let users analyze their personal finance and budget in detail thanks to the included filtering tools and beautiful charts. It's the go-to app for managing your personal accounting, budget, and finance across Linux and Windows platforms.

HomeBank 5.1.2 is the second maintenance update to the 5.1 stable series of the software, and it brings various performance improvements mixed with a little bit of UI (User Interface) changes. For example, the app now remembers the size of columns in the main window, as well as the width of the scheduled listview column.

It's now possible to edit multiple transaction dates, and a new Quicken Interchange Format (QIF) option was implemented. Moreover, it looks like HomeBank 5.1.2 introduces an option that lets users choose to import an Open Financial Exchange (OFX) name to a memo or payee.

Balance report no longer shows the wrong values

Among other interesting improvements implemented in the HomeBank 5.1.2 release, we can mention a handful of import fixes to display the decimal part to the imported amount, and show NaN if the newly imported account doesn't have currency. Also, the balance report should no longer display the wrong values.

Lastly, HomeBank now correctly imports the rounded amount shown at import time and saves transaction changes in the detail list. You can download HomeBank 5.1.2 for GNU/Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems right now from our website or directly from the official homepage of the software, and check out the full changelog attached below for extra details.
