The Samsung Galaxy S10 leaks in all its glory

If you’ve been following Samsung news lately, there’s only a small chance the upcoming Galaxy S10 takes you by surprise given all the leaks that made the rounds in the last couple of months.

But a collection of photos published by AAS provides us with the closest and clearest look at the S10 so far, confirming both the good and bad things we heard about the device recently.

First and foremost, the good news. As expected, the upcoming phone lineup will use Infinity O displays, which means that the front-facing cameras are embedded into the screens.

Additionally, the fingerprint sensor is nowhere to be seen on the back, so it’s most likely placed under the display as well in an approach that’s projected to give Samsung a major advantage in the fight against iPhones. Apple has already ditched fingerprint sensors in favor of facial recognition, but Samsung doesn’t seem to be going in the same direction with the S10 lineup.

A headphone jack will continue to be offered in the lower part of the phone, so yes, you’ll still be able to use your standard headphones with the S10.

Going on sale in early March

The bad news is that the screen cutouts for the front cameras are easily noticeable and quite intrusive when the S10 is turned on. This isn’t the case when the device is locked.

Also, the Galaxy S10 still comes with a chin at the bottom of the front case, so despite Samsung’s efforts to improve the screen estate with holes drilled in the display for cameras, there’s still some work to do in the lower part of the device.

The Galaxy S10 will see daylight on February 20 at Samsung’s Unpacked event, while sales are projected to kick off in early March. There will be three different models, including a 5G version hitting the shelves later the same month.
