Halloween is one of the real world holidays that gets interesting counterparts in most multiplayer-oriented video games, and the development team at Blizzard is aiming at delivering some interesting treats for gamers who plan on playing Heroes of the Storm during the coming week.

From October 27 at 10, AM Pacific Standard Time to November 3 at 10 AM PST, all those who take part will get an extra 50 percent experience from matches, which will be a great way to progress in the video game.

They can also get access to a Halloween Headless Horseman’s charger mount and a new Buccaneer Falstad skin, both of them suited to the theme of the event.

Players who are good enough to win 25 games in Heroes of the Storm during the Hallow's End event will get a unique Jack-O’-Lantern portrait and those interested have until November 17 to achieve the feat.

A new event-themed set of bundles comes to the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena title, allowing gamers to get access to a wide range of characters and skins for them, including Kerrigan, Abathur, Tychus, and Falstad.

Blizzard states, "Be sure to take advantage of these bundles while they’re available, and band together with a few friends to make the most of this week’s Bonus XP. Good luck, and we’ll see you in the Nexus!"

Fans suspect that the Hallow's End event for Heroes of the Storm will also include some surprises that gamers will uncover when they access the game on October 27.

Blizzard has big long-term plans for its MOBA

The most recent update for Heroes of the Storm allows gamers who have picked up a pre-order for Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void to get access to the hero Artanis, who is at the center of the campaign for the coming real-time strategy experience.

On October 27, all those interested in using him will be able to buy him in the shop, and at some point he will also be introduced in the free hero rotation.

Blizzard has also made some tweaks to the matchmaking system in Heroes of the Storm and is constantly working to make sure that each of the offered characters delivers a unique experience and can play a solid role in the five-man teams.

Major patches tend to arrive about once per month, which means that the community might get access to another one as soon as the Hallow's End event ends.

The MOBA genre is at the moment very crowded, with Heroes of the Storm having to compete with behemoths like DOTA 2 from Valve and League of Legends from Riot Games.

Blizzard is aiming at making its own title more accessible for newcomers and wants to continue to add heroes based on its many intellectual properties to keep long-term fans engaged.

Heroes of the Storm has managed to get a foothold in the eSports space, with a major world championship set to take place during the coming BlizzCon event, with the best players in the world having a chance to prove their skills.
