“Law & Order: SVU,” NBC’s long-running procedural drama, has often turned to real scandals for inspiration for new episodes, so it was only a matter of time before writers looked into the Duggar child molestation scandal.

Said scandal broke earlier this year, when older police records were made public under the Freedom of Information Act, revealing that Josh Duggar, the eldest Duggar son, had molested 4 of his own underage sisters, when he was a teenager.

TLC was eventually forced to cancel the family’s highly successful reality show 19 Kids and Counting, as the Duggar brand took such a hit that sponsors didn’t know how to drop it quicker. At one point, it simply made no financial sense to keep the show on the air.

While the two eldest Duggar girls, Jill and Jessa, are gearing up for their return to the network with their specials, NBC is also preparing for its own Duggar-packed material: an episode of “Law & Order: SVU” called “Patrimonial Burden.”

Embedded below is a teaser for the episode, which comes with this official synopsis: “The SVU investigates an unraveling web of secrets when the virtuous 13 year-old daughter of a famous reality TV family discovers she’s pregnant.”

The title suggests that the father of the unborn child is the girl’s father, so the show is deviating from reality.
