Rugged Windows 10 Mobile device now available online

The Samsung Galaxy S7 is one of the first mass-produced phones that can be used while showering (although it’s not really recommended), but the device is fully waterproof and can effortlessly survive being immersed in deep water.

If you want to do the same thing, but with a Windows 10 Mobile device, here’s something really exciting: the rugged RMQ5018 is now available online, and it comes with a price that makes it super affordable for pretty much everyone. But let us tell you more about its specs.

First of all, this isn’t a flagship like the Samsung Galaxy S7, but a low-end device whose purpose is to survive in tougher conditions and nothing more. It comes with a Snapdragon 210 quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM, so it barely has the minimum requirements to run Windows 10 Mobile.

Super affordable

Additionally, it features a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels, 8 GB of storage space, but no microSD card support to extend capacity - this makes sense, given the fact that this is supposed to be a rugged phone, and a card slot would make it harder to be waterproof.

There are two cameras, an 8-megapixel unit on the back and a 2-megapixel one on the front, dual-SIM support, and a battery of 3,200 mAh that should easily get you through the day or even provide two full days of autonomy - as usual, it all depends on usage patterns, but in most cases, it should easily provide at least one day.

And now, the best thing about it. The phone can be purchased from Alibaba (via GSMArena) for just $130 (€110) and is also available with Android, just in case you don’t want the Windows 10 Mobile version. It is sold in two colors, black and yellow, both of them super rugged to withstand severe shocks and water that’s up to 4 meters deep.
