Great news for fans of HERE maps application for Android devices, as developers have just announced a small but important update is now available for download.

The latest version of HERE for Android marks the comeback of the Surfer Dude, a funny voice that's already been implemented to the iOS application not long ago.

“The laid-back navigation voice has already made a comeback to the HERE app for iOS and now Android fans will be able to join in the fun. We like to think of his hippy, happy voice as one of the key ingredients for stress-free travel,” explain developers in a blog post.

If you missed his voice, then you will be happy to know that he's back after being on “an epic vacation,” so make sure to download the latest update for more fun.

But that's not the only new feature included in the latest version of HERE for Android. The share route feature that's been rolled out to the beta build of the application a while ago is now available in the stable version as well.

Share full route directions, not just destination or ETA

So, with the share route feature users will be able to share full route directions not just their destination or ETA, which were available since the launch of HERE on Android devices.

Basically, when you plan a route, you will be able to scroll up to see for the Share button, tap it and then you can share the route via text, email and much more.

Lots of under-the-hood improvements and bug fixes have been implemented too, but no additional details have been offered on any of them yet.

If you haven't tried out the application yet, you can now download HERE Maps for Android for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 4.1 and up.
