HERE has just announced a new update is now available for its Android maps application, which brings a single new feature, the ability to share routes.

The new feature is only available for HERE beta, so if you have been accepted into the beta program, then you will now be able to test the new feature.

The ability to share a route has been one of the most requested features by members of HERE for Android Beta program, which is why developers have decided to finally implement it.

As soon as the new feature is thoroughly tested, it will be included in the stable version of HERE for Android, which is now listed on Google Play Store.

According to developers, even though HERE had the ability to share places and the user's position and ETA using Glympse since its launch, there was no way to share a specific route.

So, with the latest version of HERE for Android Beta, users will be able to share a route instead of giving someone directions to get to a specific place. But how does this new feature work on Android devices? It's pretty simple.

Share a route with a single tap

If you already have a planned route, simply scroll up to show the route details. Then, at the bottom of the screen, you will be able to see a Share button.

Tap on the Share button and choose what method you want to share with: email, Messenger and others. Then select the person or people you want to share that route with, depending on the chosen method.

The person you shared a route with will receive the directions and they can click the link in the messages to open the route in HERE application on their smartphones or on here.com if they don't have the application installed yet.

Keep in mind that in order to benefit from this feature and other new features, you must join the HERE Beta Program Google group and Become a Tester.
