Blizzard is ready to announce that all the content associated with the new Whispers of the Old Gods expansion for Hearthstone will be launched for all gamers on April 26, offering fans of the card game access to 134 new cards that they will be free to use in their decks to enhance their capabilities.

The official announcement adds, "Who’s got hundreds of eyes, dozens of appendages, and some rather interesting plans for the tavern? The Old Gods, of course! They’re eager to meet you, and offer you a horrifying delightful new perspective on Hearthstone!"

The entire expansion will be available in the official shop for Hearthstone on April 26, and gamers will get the new cards on the PC, mobile devices and tablets at the same time, with those who have placed a pre-order able to open their card bundles at the same time.

Whispers of the Old Gods will be arriving in both Europe and Asia one day later with the same content.

Gamers can still pre-purchase the expansion for Hearthstone to get access to a special card back and a bundle that features 50 of the cards.

The card game is adding two new game modes

Blizzard says that when Whispers of the Old Gods goes live, it is also enabling the new Standard and Wild Play for the card game, which are designed to cater to the needs of different varieties of players.

Standard is designed for the more competitive gamers and will eliminate cards associated with some expansions, allowing only the use of classic and basic sets as well as those linked to Blackrock Mountain, The Grand Tournament, The League of Explorers, and the coming Whispers of the Old World.

As more expansions are launched, Blizzard will continue to update the list of cards that can be used in this mode and will work to make it as balanced as possible.

In Wild Play, as the name suggests, everything goes, and that means gamers can use their most interesting combinations and moves without any restrictions, offering an experience that is designed for long-time fans and for those who love exotic choices.

The two modes will each have a separate rank, and gamers will only collect rewards at the end of the season for that in which they are best ranked, which will mean all fans of Hearthstone will have to make some tough choices.
