Microsoft Teams is one of the services whose adoption skyrocketed in the last few months as more people are working remotely, and Microsoft knows that it needs to continue to improve the platform to maintain this momentum for as long as possible.

But at the same time, Microsoft Teams also needs a number of urgent updates to better cope with the competition from other services like Zoom, so Microsoft is now working around the clock on a series of improvements that are supposed to go live this summer.

One of them is an increase for the number of participants in a Microsoft Teams meeting, with the software giant planning to raise the maximum limit for the second time in just a couple of months.

New update going live this month

Last month, for example, Microsoft started allowing up to 250 members at the same time in a Microsoft Teams meeting, and now the company wants to increase this limit to 300 participants. The whole thing is expected to happen sometime this month, according to Microsoft itself, which shared more information on the Microsoft Teams roadmap.

“To help customers meet rapidly changing communication and meeting needs, we are increasing the maximum number of participants allowed in a Teams meeting to 300. We expect to enable this new increase in June,” Microsoft says.

All these increases in the number of maximum participants are living proof that Microsoft Teams is growing and growing these days, and what Microsoft does is just respond to feedback from its customers.

Without a doubt, this is a change that is needed by many of the large companies using Teams, and Microsoft trying to improve is the right way to go, not only now when the adoption skyrockets, but also in the long term, especially as the company wants to lead this market.
