One of the most underrated games, Battle Brothers is coming to a new platform in 2020. Publisher UKIYO and developer Overhype Studios announced Battle Brothers, along with all DLC (Lindwurm, Warriors of the North, Beasts & Exploration, and Blazing Deserts), arrives on Nintendo Switch at some point this year.

Battle Brothers was a big success for us on PC thanks to our passionate and supportive community that offered us loads of useful feedback. Among other things a Switch version of the game was kept being requested to allow Battle Brothers to be played on the go. In addition, we can now bring our challenging, hardcore strategy game to a whole new audience on the Switch,” said Jan Taaks from Overhype Studios.

A turn-based tactical RPG at its core, Battle Brothers lets players create their own mercenary band in a gritty, medieval fantasy world. Choose whom to hire and where to go, but since you're a mercenary, you also get to choose what contracts to take on and how to manage your private militia.

You'll lose people trying to fulfill these contracts that usually require either delivering resources to another town or eradicating a band of thieves, orcs, undead or ferocious animals. So, you'll have to be careful how you balance your budget, equip your crew, and and survive an unforgiving world.

Combat-wise, Battle Brothers offers a different kind of tactical affair, as you position your players into place. Keep in mind though that different weapons will have different advantages and disadvantages against the enemies you'll face in the game.

For example, you can split shields with axes, stun enemies with a mace, form a phalanx with spears, or crush enemy armor with a warhammer. Everything in Battle Brothers is permanent, so once you lose a soldier, they’re gone forever. More importantly, if you lose your whole squad, the game is over.
