The focus of most fans of the franchise might be on the coming Halo 5: Guardians, but the development team at 343 Industries is continuing to work on the older Halo: The Master Chief Collection, aiming to improve the experience that it offers based on the feedback that the community is offering.

In a new update on the Halo Waypoint, the studio explains that it is still finalizing changes that will be made in the next content update and does not yet have an official launch date for it.

At the same time, the playlist team is aiming to make some big tweaks when the next patch focused on them launches for Halo: The Master Chief Collection and the team explain how the experience will change.

For Team Doubles, the company is aiming to offer more options in order to make sure that Halo 2 Classic & H2A are no longer dominating the playlist and gamers who love this side of the shooter can get some variety.

They explain that "In the new system, you’ll first be presented with a Slayer BRs option from one of the four games. In the second slot, you’ll find an objective game type, meaning that if both teams prefer objective, it will be played. Lastly, in slot 3, another Slayer BRs option will await, in the event that you don’t prefer your first Slayer BRs nor the objective game type."

Team Action Sack for Halo: The Master Chief Collection is also improved with an increase for the party size to eight, with more game types added for variety.

Hardcore and Infection are also getting tweaks

Team Hardcore is being improved by adding more weight for some maps that cover more than one game type, and more options are being added for both Halo 4 and Halo 2: Anniversary.

Infection and Team Snipers in Halo: The Master Chief Collection are also targeted by changes, which are rather numerous but will not affect the core experience offered by the playlists.

The new update should be live for the shooter sometime next week, and presumably more tweaks might be made until then.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is important for Microsoft because it offers the only way to experience all the Master Chief powered titles on the Xbox One as gamers get ready for the launch of Halo 5: Guardians on October 27.
