Microsoft is bringing all the Halo games to PC, but since there are too many to make it available at the same time, the Redmond-based company opted for a release in stages. The first chapter in the so-called Halo: The Master Chief Collection saga drops on December 3 and it's a prequel to the series, Halo: Reach.

Halo: Reach arrives on December 3 via Xbox Game Pass, the Microsoft Store, and Steam, and it's already available for pre-order. If you're an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, then you'll get the game for free, otherwise, you can buy the entire collection for $40 or each game for $10.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection includes five other titles besides Halo Reach: Halo Combat Evolved, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST (Campaign), and Halo 4. Each game will be released over time, completing the collection in 2020, and all of them will be available for free to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.

For existing owners of Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Xbox One, the Halo: Reach Campaign, along with Firefight, will be available as a premium add-on for $10. The multiplayer aspect, including PvP modes, Forge and Theater will be automatically included as part of the base content offering of the collection at no additional cost via a game update.

The next title in the collection, Halo: Combat Evolved will be released in early 2020, Microsoft confirmed last week. The next Halo games will be launched throughout the year, but specific dates will be announced closer to release.

If you're a PC gamer, Xbox Game Pass is the best bang for the buck. The game subscription service offers loads of first-party titles not just from its portfolio, but also from other big developers and publishers, many of these games launched in 2019. Also, all games developed by Microsoft studios will be available for free to all Xbox Game Pass subscribers at launch.
