Disintegration is the name of the new game to be launched by Marcus Lehto, former creative director at Bungie and co-creator of Halo. The sci-fi shooter will be fully revealed next month at Gamescom 2019 as the debut title from V1 Interactive, a new independent development studio comprised of AAA veterans who worked on big franchises like Halo and SOCOM: US Navy SEALs.

The opportunity to create not only a new game, but this entire studio has been exhilarating. It is great to be able to share what this amazing team has been working on, and we can’t wait to introduce this new game that our team is building to the world next month,” said Marcus Lehto, President and Game Director at V1 Interactive.

The folks over at V1 Interactive say Disintegration will be launched in calendar year 2020, during Take-Two’s fiscal year 2021 (April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021), so there's a lot of time to learn more about the project. The short trailer released today reveals absolutely nothing about Disintegration, so we'll just have to wait until August 19 for full unveil.

Disintegration will be published by Private Division, a subsidiary of Take-Two, and the same company that published or will publish titles like Kerbal Space Program, The Outer Worlds, and Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey.

We’re lucky enough to work with someone like Marcus, a gaming icon whose creativity has influenced an entire industry. We’ve been with Marcus and the V1 Interactive team since the studio’s inception and have seen the organization grow its talent base throughout our partnership. As such, we have high confidence in Disintegration, and cannot wait to introduce it as another unique experience that further enhances the Private Division lineup,” said Michael Worosz, Executive Vice President and Head of Private Division.

There's no word on the platforms we'll be able to play Disintegration, but it's safe to assume that it will come on PC. It remains to be seen whether or not it be launched on console as well.
