Microsoft Xbox boss Phil Spencer emphasizes that the next installment in the Halo series, Halo 5: Guardians, won't repeat the mistakes of the previous entry, Halo: The Master Chief Collection. He explains that the developers at 343 Industries have gone to great lengths in order to ensure a smooth release for the upcoming shooter.

The Halo series has been around for more than 10 years and publisher Microsoft has used it to promote its Xbox consoles throughout the generations. Last year, in order to get more people interested in the Xbox One, the corporation tasked 343 Industries with remastering Halo 1, 2, 3, and 4 in the form of a Halo: The Master Chief Collection package.

Unfortunately for fans, the long-awaited title suffered from many multiplayer issues and required a myriad of updates from 343 Industries to make it a decent experience.

The studio has learned a lot from The Master Chief Collection's problems

While the developer has already made it clear that it's learned from the issues encountered with The Master Chief Collection, Microsoft boss Phil Spencer once again highlights just how crucial the whole debacle was for 343 Industries.

He explains to Gamespot that every meeting with the developers starts with information about the game's online mode and how it can withstand a huge amount of players without any issues in terms of performance or matchmaking.

"I just know every time I've been down to 343, it's the first thing that they want to talk about is how they're doing with multiplayer and the robustness that we mentioned. No team is focused on it more than 343. The planning and process teams have gone through has been great, and I'm confident in how it will launch based on the results that we're seeing."

Spencer also mentions that recent releases, from Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, to Forza Motorsport 6, haven't experienced any problems when it came to their online modes, so Halo 5: Guardians shouldn't encounter any issues.
