The new Warzone Firefight mode for Halo 5: Guardians is a few months away from launch, but the player community seems very interested in this new Player versus Environment experience and will be happy to take a look at the official first trailer for it, which arrived during the finals of the World Championship.

343 Industries and Microsoft are offering a little over one minute of footage that shows how teams of eight players will be able to work together and deploy the best REQ cards in their arsenal to take out increasingly powerful waves of enemies on a variety of maps.

Warzone Firefight has been requested by the player community since Halo 5: Guardians was first launched in the autumn of last year, and the developers are saying that they are taking fan feedback into account when putting together the new mode.

The update which will include the PvE experience will be delivered at some point during the summer, and it's likely that a major pack of REQ cards will also be offered for the first person shooter at the same time.

In the meanwhile gamers can get ready for the new Ghosts of Meridian free update for Halo 5: Guardians, which is set to arrive in early April and will introduce a new map called Skirmish at Darkstar.

CLG are the winners of the World Championship

The first major tournament for Halo 5: Guardians offered a 1 million dollars (780,000 Euro) prize to the best team, which turned out to be CLG after a final with Allegiance that they dominated and won by four matches to zero.

Gamers who tuned into the Halo 5: Guardians World Championship finals are able to use a new set of REQ items that include a special emblem and a new Challenger armor.

Ghosts of Meridian will also introduce a new game mode and two balance updates, but 343 Industries has not announced any information about the kind of tweaks that they are planning to make to the core gameplay.

Once the free content updates for Halo 5: Guardians stop arriving, fans of the franchise will have to rely on other types of content, including a new graphical novel and extra content for board games based on the series, to get their fix until Halo Wars 2 arrives.

Microsoft has suggested that a new Xbox One title powered by Master Chief will be launched at some point in 2017.
