The developers at 343 Industries who are working on Halo 5: Guardians are announcing that they are planning to launch the first major update for the shooter in less than one week and that until then a number of tweaks have already been made to the multiplayer side of the title.

On the official site the studio explains that a range of changes have been made to the playlists for the game, with community votes making Shotty Snipers available for the weekend, designed to offer a mix of long- and close-range battles and more XP for characters.

Orion has been taken out from all Halo 5: Guardians modes so that the developers can eliminate some exploits and there are also tweaks to the matchmaking system, with a focus on making it easier for those who love Warzone to find a game and play with friends from all over the world.

In the future, 343 Industries also wants to deal with other issues linked to multiplayer and will do so in the coming update and other patches.

The coming big November update for Halo 5: Guardians introduces Big Team Battle, more maps, vehicular combat and more REQ content for gamers to obtain and use during matches.

The new maps were created with help from members of the player community and include: Deadlock, based on Standoff, Basin, linked to Valhalla, Guillotine, inspired by Headlong, and Recurve, based on Longbow.

The new REQ content is designed to offer Halo 5: Guardians more tools to improve their performance in Warzone and the look of their Spartan in all modes.

More control options are being explored

Chris King, the lead sandbox designer, and Scott Sims, lead sandbox engineer, are quoted as saying that 343 Industries is aware of the issues that some Halo 5: Guardians fans have had with the control scheme of the shooter, specifically the turning speed.

They offer details on how the system was approached during the development process and how it will be improved in the future.

The studio says, „To preserve that Halo feel we chose not to re-write any of our base control systems, but instead to perform targeted retunes to balance for the higher framerate and myriad of other changes made to our movement and weapon systems.”

Halo 5: Guardians is designed to be a little harder, and the community has mostly adjusted to the new combat environment.

A fix is being tested for the slow turn problem and will be delivered as quickly as possible.

Because the community has been asking for more options when it comes to the control scheme in Halo 5: Guardians, the development team is working on an extensive set of options that are supposed to become available in December.

Gamers will be able to perform customization on independent vertical and horizontal sensitivities, dead zone calibration, granularity and more.

In December, gamers will also be able to get access to the Forge for Halo 5: Guardians, and the entire community will be able to take part in or watch the qualifiers for the World Championship that will run until March 2016.
