The most interesting new mode coming to Halo 5: Guardians is called Warzone Firefight and will add a new Player versus Environment experience to the shooter. Now the development team at 343 Industries is ready to offer some more details about the coming mechanics and the way they improve on the formula that was first introduced in Halo 3: ODST.

The Twitch stream is the first time that the studio is showing off a full match, and it seems that eight players will have to work together, carefully coordinating their actions and their use of REQ cards, to stand a chance to deal with increasingly powerful enemy waves.

In Warzone Firefight for Halo 5: Guardians, objectives are also introduced across five rounds, and there are also new Mythical level bosses that will pose more problems than those gamers have seen until now.

All matches will take place on Warzone maps, and it seems that a range of new REQ cards will be introduced for the community to use, including weapons, armor, power-ups, vehicles and some surprises that will be revealed later.

343 Industries says that it will hold a beta test for the Firefight experience between April 14 and 18, although the company has not yet revealed who will be able to take part in it or whether all the core mechanics will be featured.

Halo 5: Guardians is preparing for Memories of Reach

The new downloadable content pack is currently set to be offered in May and will add a new map or more that are based on one of the most important planets in the lore of the franchise, and will also bring in more REQs and maybe a new mode.

Since Halo 5: Guardians was first launched, 343 Industries has delivered a solid number of new modes and has tweaked playlists and more to make sure that gamers remain engaged.

Warzone Firefight is set to arrive at some point in the summer, probably in late June or early July.

343 Industries, Microsoft, and the ESL have also announced their plans for the Pro League, which will allow some of the best teams in the world to compete all through the summer.

The developers are also working on adding the Infection mode to Halo 5: Guardians, but they have not said whether it will be a part of Memories of Reach or whether it will be delivered on its own at a later date.  Watch live video from Halo on www.twitch.tv
