This is not a confirmation, by any means

Halo 5: Guardians is the upcoming first-person shooter from 343 Industries. As you would expect from a Halo game, this is an Xbox One exclusive, but it seems that there is the possibility of a PC port sometime in the future.

Halo games on PCs are not something new, and it's been done before, although it wasn't something regular. The first two games in the series, Halo and Halo 2, eventually landed on the PC, but way too late to matter.

By the time PC players got to play Halo on their computer, much better and much more interesting games were already available. Now, it looks like Microsoft might make launch Halo 5: Guardians for Windows users but nothing has been set in stone.

If the game ever makes it to the PC, there is a good chance that it will be a Windows 10 exclusive, sold exclusively through their store. It's the perfect game to promote the user of the store, and it wouldn't be the only game there.

Since Microsoft really, really wants Windows 7 and above users to upgrade as soon as possible, a new incentive like this one just might push some users to take the leap.

Halo 5: Guardians on PC is not impossible

People shouldn't read too much into what the Halo 5 director Frank O'Conner said to the gamesradar.com editors during a Live Twitch session. He was asked about the possibility of a PC release, but he didn't deny. In fact, he pretty much said that it's quite doable, but it's not really up to him.

"There is plenty of chances that Halo 5 could appear on the PC. Nothing to announce at this point. We developed the game on an Intel platform. It wouldn’t be the hardest thing in the world to move it to PC and take advantage of the PC," said Frank.

This is hardly a confirmation, but it's a lot more than we had for previous Halo games. We'll have to see what comes out of it.
