The biggest reveal for Halo 5: Guardians at E3 2015 was the addition of the new Warzone multiplayer experience, and since then the development team at 343 Industries has been offering more details about the concept and the way gamers will be able to engage with it.

In a new Halo Waypoint lore update, the studio is offering more background on how the various boss characters are created for the simulation.

Warzone is basically a huge set of war games that a specialized team is creating in order to train Spartans and familiarize them with almost any situation they can find in the real world, thereby expanding their ability to win in fights where they are outnumbered or surprised.

343 Industries states, "These 'Boss' constructs can be representative of a singular, exceptional opponent, or an amalgamation of multiple combatants created to test particular combat strategies and threat-response loops by UNSC troops. For training purposes, these Bosses are identified by specific colorations within Warzone to indicate their threat level."

The developers explain that the powerful characters can also develop their own personalities in the Warzone mode of Halo 5: Guardians.

The next Master Chief adventure offers two points of view

Warzone is important because it represents an entirely new take on multiplayer, integrating both Player versus Player and Player versus Environment elements in the same combat scenarios.

But much of the success of Halo 5: Guardians will be linked to the single-player experience that it offers, which will allow fans to experience the narrative from the view point of both Master Chief and of Agent Locke, who is a new Spartan.

Both will lead teams of four as they seek to tackle a new major threat, to deal both with familiar and entirely new enemies.

343 Industries has promised that it will offer a more emotional story than any previous installment in the series.

The multiplayer experience will include new abilities for Spartans although the classic experience associated with the franchise can still be accessed via the options associated with custom games.

Halo 5: Guardians will be out on October 27 of this year only on the Xbox One.
