Halo 5: Guardians is set to get monthly updates from the development team at 343 Industries and the new Cartographer's Gift content pack is now live for the shooter on the Xbox One, introducing new content for gamers to explore and a range of tweaks for the core mechanics and modes of the title.

Gamers will be prompted to download it as soon as they launch the game and the biggest addition is the Forge suite of editing tools, which allows gamers to create a range of new experiences and maps that can be tested and then shared with the rest of the community.

A wide array of new REQ cards is also introduced in Cartographer's Gift, giving players more options when it comes to weapons and armor for the Warzone experience, including the SPNKr rocket launcher and the Mark IV Hen 1 outfit for Spartans.

Nice Try and Oh Snap are the unique assassination that gamers can use, and the Battle of Noctus map is now introduced, featuring two garage bases that gamers can use to quickly spawn vehicles to dominate the battle.

For the competitive Arena mode fans of Halo 5: Guardians can get access to Overgrowth and Big Team Battle now also features Antifreeze and Entombed as part of the rotation.

343 Industries says that more than 30,000 Spartan companies have been created so far and is adding more functionality and special gear linked to them, with plans to further expand the feature in coming updates.

Halo 5: Guardians also launches its first Season

The new mode is designed for those who want a more structured ranked Arena experience, with the first one running until the end of January 2016.

Gamers who finish all their placement matches will get an REQ pack as rewards and the best players will be able to earn bragging rights if they stay at the top of the leaderboards for the coming month and a half.

Cartographer's Gift also delivers a range of other smaller changes for Halo 5: Guardians, which can be seen by clicking on the button at the end of this article, and the advanced controller options are also active.

343 Industries has said that all the new content offered for the Master Chief powered shooter during its first year of existence will be free to make sure that the community is not split.

Meanwhile, the company will derive revenue from the real money transactions linked to the REQ system, and a portion of them will be used to fund the prize pool for the World Championship, which will hold its finals during March of next year.

The studio has made it clear that it has no plans to offer more single-player content for Halo 5: Guardians and that the fate of Master Chief will be resolved in the coming titles in the franchise.

Those who have not yet picked up the shooter can still get a bundle with it and an Xbox One for a low price during the holiday season.
