Video game developer Guerrilla Games and publisher Sony managed to make a solid impact on gamers with the reveal of the coming Horizon Zero Dawn during E3 2015, and the two companies are now ready to slowly deliver more information on the core ideas that power it.

VG247 quotes Hermen Hulst, who is the managing director working on the project, as saying that the role-playing elements are designed to be interesting for gamers without overwhelming the core mechanics that are action-driven.

He states, "I guess you’re wondering where we are on that spectrum of, on the one side more action-orientated games like Assassin’s Creed, and on the other hand you have your Elder Scrolls and these kinds of series."

Apparently, more details about the RPG features included in Horizon Zero Dawn will be offered later when more players can get their hands on the experience.

The video game will be centered on exploration and combat as gamers control an archer and survivalist who needs to move across a vast landscape ruled by robotic dinosaurs, apparently created by humanity before its own downfall.

Horizon Zero Dawn is an entirely new intellectual property

Guerrilla Games has been defined during previous years by its work on the Killzone series, which was solid but never managed to become the dominant shooter on the PlayStation 4.

Horizon Zero Dawn is the company's attempt to create an entirely new universe that gives it a chance to introduce mechanics that it cares about, like a full night and day system and an open world that will focus on the freedom the main character has to interact with the creatures that surround her.

Guerrilla Games claims that the action title will not have any loading screens, and the initial demo for it looked impressive, especially when the main character fought one of the powerful robot enemies.

Long-range combat will be the focus, but gamers can also use melee to take down their targets, and there's an arsenal of traps and other tricks to soften them up before a killing blow.

Horizon Zero Dawn will be offered only on the PlayStation 4 and is supposed to arrive at some point next year.
