The Online element of Grand Theft Auto V remains very popular with gamers, and Rockstar is adding not only new content that's designed to keep long-term fans engaged with the video game but also title updates that both eliminate bugs and improve the overall experience.

A new 1.33 update for the game is now live, and the studio has delivered a truly impressive list of changes, which can be seen in full by clicking on the button at the end of this article, with a focus on lowering load time across the board while improving the stability of connections between players and servers.

A new Ghosted to Player feature is now live for GTA Online, and Rockstar is also saying that it has changed the way the unlock system for Contact Missions works while also better distributing some of the new content introduced via updates.

The content update that arrived today gives gamers access to a new Sumo mode, which is centered on vehicles and asks each team to try and get their enemies out of the designated playing area, and introduces new weapons, more outfits, extra tattoos and hairstyles to make sure that their characters are as unique as possible.

GTA V will continue to get content all through 2016

According to Take Two, there are currently no plans to announce another entry in the franchise because both the publisher and Rockstar are determined not to milk the biggest franchises they have and deliver as much content for each installment as possible before revealing new projects.

Some gamers, supported by rumors and ambiguous statements from voice actors, are saying that in 2016 the developers will make an official announcement about a single-player expansion for GTA V, which will add a narrative focused on a new character and some extra areas to explore.

Regardless of whether that happens, Rockstar will certainly continue to introduce both title updates and content drops for the Online mode as long as gamers spend their time in the world and continue to spend money on it.

No new content is being offered for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of GTA V, but the title continues to generate solid sales on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.

Rockstar might also announce an entirely new game before the end of the year, with many fans hoping that the studio will once again turn its attention to the Red Dead universe.
