Rockstar Games confirms that it's going to debut a brand new major update for Grand Theft Auto 5's GTA Online multiplayer mode next week, on September 15. The major patch brings Freemode Events, special encounters available straight from the freemode, filled with instant action.

Grand Theft Auto 5 may have delighted millions of fans with its intense story and single-player adventures, but what really keeps fans coming back to the experience is the GTA Online multiplayer mode, which is constantly updated by Rockstar with free features and new mechanics.

Freemode Events are coming to GTA 5 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One

Now, the studio confirms on its Newswire that it's going to debut one of the biggest free updates for GTA 5 yet, in the form of the Freemode Events one. As its name suggests, the new patch brings a novel addition to the GTA Online freemode, in the form of live events that happen throughout the open world.

More specifically, you can jump into the freemode events instantly, without any menus, lobbies, or loading times. You can even select what events you want to pop into your open world and engage in them to win GTA$ and RP. Unfortunately for PS3 and Xbox 360 users, these new events are possible only on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Some of the events include King of the Castle, which pits fans one against the other to become the reigning king in a special zone, or Hunt the Beast, which turns one player into a speedy character and tasks others with hunting him down.

New Adversary modes are also coming

Besides these impressive freemode events, the update also brings two new Adversary modes, in the form of Hunting Pack and Cross the Line. Both are geared towards intense fun and lots of explosive adventures, so expect some great times in the online mode.

Last but not least, Rockstar also mentions that the Freemode Events update also brings the Rockstar Editor feature to the PS4 and Xbox One platforms, not to mention the new features that will be available for the mechanic on the PC.

The patch arrives for GTA 5's GTA Online mode on September 15. Until then, check out a video below.
