The next GoPro model will come with an extra display

While more and more people believe that an action camera no longer makes any sense since the smartphone cameras have improved a lot (with mobile devices themselves also coming with IP68 ratings that allow them to be used in all kinds of conditions), GoPro’s models continue to be extremely popular these days.

And one domain where a GoPro still makes sense is filmmaking, vlogging, and streaming, and by the looks of things, the parent company is now upgrading one of its more affordable models to better target these categories of customers.

The GoPro Hero 9, which is projected to launch rather sooner than later, has leaked recently, and by the looks of things, it’s going to come with a very nice surprise.

Photos that were published by German site WinFuture show that the GoPro Hero will come with a secondary screen just like the GoPro Max.

No information on the launch date

So technically, in addition to the monochrome display that’s available on the GoPro to see things like settings, the GoPro Hero 9 will also come with a front-facing display for real-time video recording information. What this means is that whoever uses the GoPro Hero 9 to record a video will see what they’re shooting right on this display, and there’s a chance GoPro will make this screen a high-quality setup.

What we still don’t know is the price tag of this new GoPro model. It goes without saying that a new display is likely to increase its price, but on the other hand, let’s not forget that the Hero 9 is supposed to be a more affordable model.

Of course, GoPro itself has remained completely tight-lipped on everything regarding its new model, but given more information has started to make the headlines, there’s a good chance the launch would happen rather sooner than later.
