You can book an Uber ride directly within the app

Google has just announced it will start deploying an updated ride services experience to both Android and iOS versions of the Maps application. The updates are meant to improve the riding services offered within Maps and make it easier to book a ride using the application.

The new features will be rolled out globally over the coming days, so if you haven't received the updated version of Maps, you should give it a day or two.

The first thing you'll notice after receiving the update is a brand new look, as you will now have more types of ride options at your disposal, as well as additional actionable information.

For example, when you open the new ride services mode, instead of a long list of ride services providers and ride options, you will now be offered a map, along with a carousel of ride services providers available in your area.

Simply tap on your preferred provider to see a complete list of ride options and special offers or promotions that are available at that moment. But these are not all the new features included in this update.

Google has announced that it's trying to bring a new integration into the Maps app, which will allow users to book, complete and pay for an Uber ride without having to leave the application.

Also, it doesn't even require for you to have the Uber application installed on your Android or iOS device.

As soon as you sign into your current Uber account (or you can create a new one), you will be able to book an Uber ride, track your driver on the map, as well as connect with your driver. All these actions can be done within the Google Maps application.

Last but not least, while on route, information is available about your destination, including menus, hours and other useful details that are just a swipe away.
