New Pixel phones to arrive a month before iPhone X

Google has set a date for the launch of Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, and it’s a lot sooner than you might think, on October 4.

Just two days after Apple announced its new lineup of devices, including the iPhone X, Google decided that now it’s the perfect time to announce the launch of their new Pixel 2. Lo and behold, it’s almost a month before the Apple date, on October 4.

Google Pixel 2 is expected to be built by HTC, and Pixel 2 XL will most likely be made by LG. Both are very well-known companies and with excellent reputations. Unfortunately, Google has been silent on details regarding the new devices, although quite a few leaks revealed some information.

October 4 is the launch date, not the announcement date

Google is not really making Pixel devices to compete with other companies, although they are usually really good. It’s mostly used as a reference model for the Android system, and they give a general direction for the development process.

Pixel 2 XL is set to have a smaller bezel, and it will most likely feature a 6 inch AMOLED display. The idea is that it’s not going to be a lot different from the previous generation, as Google is not a fan of radical design changes.

The interesting fact is that Google will make these phones available well before Apple, but history teaches us that the launch will be delayed in some parts of the world.

Why is my phone dumb?

The short teaser that just went live for Google Pixel 2 asks all the right questions. The first one is “What’s wrong with my phone’s battery?” and that’s at least ironic.  The company has started to replace the old Nexus 6P phones that had battery problems with the newer Pixel XL.

Other questions such as “Why is my phone dumb?” and “Why doesn’t my phone understands me?” can be valid, but it’s not something that people really look online. In any case, you can take a look at the video below, but all of the questions are rhetorical. Don’t expect to get an answer until October 4.
